62 TASTE OF FEAR “S/T” LP 6.50

Groovy death-grind from the vaults, originally out on cd format only in 1994, then printed on lp in 2001 and kidnapped by Italian authority until now. An overdose of bestial no-future grind including a classic Fear Of God cover, tru’ 13 tracks brilliantly produced by Don Fury. Band included members of All Out War, Winter, Citizen’s Arrest, Assuck, Power of Expression and so on.

REVIEW BY CRUCIAL BLAST RECORDS
The first album from then-NYC based scumblasters Taste Of Fear has been out of print for years, having come out on cd in 1994 and then being included on the likewise long-gone discography disc that Throne put out earlier this decade. Back in 2001, the Italian label SOA Records put things in motion to re-release the album as a limited edition vinyl release, but somewhere along the line things went awry and the records were confiscated by the "Italian financial police", or so the blurb on the back of the jacket goes. It wasn't until just this year that SOA was able to extricate the records from the authorities and finally release this thing - all very mysterious and clandestine sounding, though I have no idea what the polizia could possibly have been doing with five hundred black slabs of powerviolent deathmetal brutality. Apparently had something to do with the pressing plant, the details are sketchy. Anyways, the vinyl reissue is finally here eight years on, and it's never looked or sounded better. Featuring all new (and much improved) artwork that gives this record a very black metal look and boasting a remastering job that makes these thirteen tracks sound more bestial than ever, Taste Of Fear's album is still as vicious and punishing as ever. Featuring members of the cult New York hardcore band Citizens Arrest, Taste Of Fear took form in the early 90's as a much heavier and more metallic project that took a lot of its influence from the compact violent eruptions of Infest as well as old school death metal and black metal. These guys were aligned with the extreme hardcore/grindcore underground during the 1990's, but there was a seriously blackened streak that ran through their music that set Taste Of Fear apart from most other bands that they associated with, and while the album is pretty firmly rooted in a template of straightforward deathcrust, massive breakdowns and blasts of hyperspeed metallic powerviolence that never really lets up, it's still one of the more interesting hybrids that came out of the 90's crust/grind scene. Imagine the pissed-off barking blastcore of Infest combined with a brutal black/death assault that's equal parts frenzied Beherit blackness and Dis-core pummel and putrid doomy deathmetal, but delivered in short, stripped-down songs that ooze anger with the anti-authoritarian stance of the lyrics, lyrics that totally betray the band's roots in hardcore punk. So killer! There's also a cover of "World Under My Fingernails" from grind/noise legends Fear Of God, and the band also rips off a sample of Nurse With Wound for the intro to one of their songs, which is something you'll probably never find on another death/crust album...

64 ULCER “Discography” CD 6.00

Brilliant fast grindy thrash ultracore from the vaults. Essential and must to have discography for every speed freaks!
"This CD is a fitting tribute to a band whose hyper speed and unbridled energy marked them as one of the most extreme of the extreme. The ULCER discography is not as large as one might expect from a band whose stature in the underground was as high as theirs. The disc contains their LP on BOVINE, their splits with FAILURE FACE and CAPITALIST CASUALTIES and their self titled 7". As a bonus their last show is included as one track. This set includes an ASPIRIN FEAST cover which makes it an instant classic in my book! You haven't lived until you have feasted on aspirin my friends. If you are not familiar with ULCER now is the time to get your act together. In many ways their sound reminds me of HELLNATION: It is almost always blazing, the vocals are screeched, the noise factor is high, and the energy displayed makes the splitting of the atom look like mere childGs play. The earlier material, like the self titled 7" and the FAILURE FACE split, is more grinding while the later stuff, especially the LP which is pure thrash. Power Violence is a perfect genre tag although the band probably wouldn't agree. But hey, they broke up without seeking my approval so screw it! Needless to say this is a must have for hardcore freaks. "

66 PEGGIO PUNX “Discography” 2xCD 10

Classic 1980’s Italian Hardcore at one of the very best form; if CCM were the Italian Germs, Peggio Punx could be defined as the answer to Dead Kennedy’s. From the early demo days and rehearsals, passing thru’ the cult ep’s, and the two 12”. Almost 3 hours of KBD hardcore with big booklet

68 RUPTURE “Lust & Hate” LP 6.50

Filthcore from Australian pride Rupture. Total non PC hypercore fast and furious with two fingers in the air. No compromise, shredding, pissed off, will piss you off too! Probably their best release so far!

69 AGATHOCLES “Razor Sharp Daggers” LP 6.50

Across the 200's releases career, this is probably their masterpiece. Issued a couple of times on CD format, this is the only vinyl release for this little gem of grind/mincecore history. Absolutely fierce and no compromise!

70 V/A “Old Days Nostalgia” 3xCD 10

A compilation that revive a plethora of SOA sold out vinyl gems like Rotten Sound, Cracked Cop Skulls, Gerogerigegege, Anal Cunt, Man Is The Bastard, Disrupt, Assuck, Dogfight, Obtrude, Cripple Bastards, Motorsaegenservice, SSP, Dudman, Bloodred Bacteria, Bloodsuckingfreaks, A.C., 7MON, and many more. 71 DECLINO “1982-85 come una promessa” CD 6.00

The official collection of this seminal 82-85 hardcore band out of Torino. The cd captures the best and remastered tracks out of their split tape with Negazione, their incredible 7” and their brilliant 12”. Shredding Italian hardcore to the bone; wear your bandana and dance hard!

73 SAW THROAT “Indestroy” CD 6.00

Pounding and pummelling industrial slo-mo grind ante litteram. The Sore Throat buddies changed their moniker for this 1989 album just because it was something very different from the original band. This is the ideal soundtrack for a nuclear future interceptor clone b movie of the 80’s.

75 AVULSION “A Vicious Circle Of Agony” CD 6.00

No compromise armageddon grindcore sandstorm from Buffalo. Die hard old school style meets new era grind mood. Band had many records out for over a decade, a nice cd on 625 above all. You won’t be disappointed!

75 CRASH BOX “Veleno Per Voi” 2xCD 10

The best Milano hardcore from the 80’s, here reissued in all their full discography (2 demo recordings, 7” ep, 2 lp’s, live tracks, radio interview from their US tour). Crucial hardcore from the early days to melodic mature hardcore sound of their last lp. These buddies made some history!

78 AGATHOCLES “Superiority Overdose” LP 6.50

No compromise shredding studio album with a great production. Still mincecore, still grind, still brutal and still Agathocles. If you have never given a chance to these belgian dinosaurs, maybe this the time!

81 STALAG 13 “In Control” LP 6.50

Fast skate-core punk from Oxnard. Positive, skanking hardcore that made history, reissued officially on vinyl. The origins of youth crew, maybe…13 tracks of classic Nardcore with cult layout of Hernadez (Love & Rockets).

83 CRYPTIC SLAUGHTER “Convicted” LP Pic Disc 7.50

Cali-crossover thrash-core of the 80’s that pioneered the fastcore-grind generation of the 90’s. Fast ripping hc, frenzy vocals, big moshpits, smart social lyrics, cyco’s shirts… and two nice picture discs to pay homage to a myth of my musical youth. Licensed from Relapse Records. Records comes with printed classic Lp bag too… This is the first lp they had.

84 CRYPTIC SLAUGHTER “Money Talks” LP Pic Disc 7.50

Cali-crossover thrash-core of the 80’s that pioneered the fastcore-grind generation of the 90’s. Fast ripping hc, frenzy vocals, big moshpits, smart social lyrics, cyco’s shirts… and two nice picture discs to pay homage to a myth of my musical youth. Licensed from Relapse Records. Records comes with printed classic Lp bag too…This is their second lp.

86 ANTI YOU “making your life miserable” CD 6.00

Fast ripping hardcore like it was 1982, the missing link between Faith & Void. One of the best new Italian bands, while being the members all in their 30’s, Anti-You cranks out some serious old fast ear crunching old school snotty hardcore. Not to mention the English mother tongue singer…

86 PSA “Punk Sound Against” CD 6.00

Sardinian punk from early to mid 80’s, political and uk-influenced, unfortunately never had the opportunity to be on vinyl back in the days. 26 tracks out of their 2 demos, never released ep’s and compilation tracks for the Italian answer to crass/conflict/flux.

87 UPSET NOISE / WARFARE? “split” CD 6.00

More Italian hardcore punk from the vault! Upset Noise has here their split ep (with Warfare?) and their incredible 7” ep; from a fast Dis-punk sound they evoluted to a shredding hardcore, probably the fast thing in Italy back in the day. Warfare?, started in 1981, had some Crass times mixed with a punker sound, obviously with political/social lyrics; their recordings consists on their split ep, cassette recordings from studio and live. Singer from Warfare? as well as drummer for Upset Noise are both in the new Eu’s Arse… the ring is complete…

88 EU'S ARSE “Adesso Come Allora...” CD 6.00

One of our favorite bands from the good old days; the italian discharge Eu’s Arse! Fast and furious disbeat hc-punk, fuelled with anger and political lyrics, Eu’s Arse put out some very good tunes on their 7” and split with Impact, here again revived with the addiction of a live tracks from a 2004 set. Yes, the band still rocks now!

90 AFTER THE MASSACRE “A Future Discarded To The Bonepits” CD 6.00

Massive crust-core fierce attack. No future, black and white, double female monster vocals, no compromise shredding kang Swedish style meets Disrupt crust-core meets some elements of grind. From Liverpool, recorded at 1in12 Club by Bri of Doom fame. Raging!

91 AFFLUENTE “Libera Fame” CD 6.00

Ripping italian hardcore-punk from some 80’s veterans still up. Polemic yet politic not to mention powerful! They had two singles in the early years of SOA, 1993 & 1995, a great cd like 5 years ago. Members comes from kbd punk bands of the 80’s like Stige and Dictatrista. Alive and kicking senile hardcore-punk to the bones!

94 DEATH BEFORE WORK “messageboardpunx on a rope” CD 6.00

Fast and crucial hypercore from Milano. WHN? / Tear It Up style furious hardcore with ironic lyrics to mosh it up. No compromise thrash-core; 16 blistering tracks. Circle pit mixed with fast 80’s crossover. Wear your bandana, go!

97 BLUE VOMIT “S/T” CD 6.00

Cult KBD hardcore punk from Torino. 22 songs covering all this snotty punk band existence from 1978 to ’83. Songs collected from memorable tapes as Torino 198X or Vanchiglia Live, stuff that made history in the old Italian punk scene. Not to mention that from the ashes of this band, Nerorgasmo started up and Ifix Tcen Tcen followed.

99 TSUBO “anus mundi” CD 6.00

Trembling aggressive grindcore as its best, combining old school element with Relapse technicism.
No gore, no porn shit, just plain evil grindcore sandstorm! If you need the missing link between Suuffocation and Brutal Truth you maybe have found your cup of tea!
